The main factors affecting the strength of shot blasting machine
① Shot size
The larger the shot blast, the greater the impact kinetic energy and the greater the shot blasting strength, but the coverage of the shot blast decreases. Therefore, while guaranteeing shot blasting strength, smaller shot blasting should be selected as much as possible. In addition, shot size is also limited by the shape of the part. When there is a groove in the part, the shot blasting diameter should be less than half of the inner circle radius of the groove. Shot blasting size is usually selected between 6 to 50 mesh.
② Shot blasting hardness
When the shot peening hardness is higher than the hardness of the part, the change in its hardness value does not affect the shot peening strength;
When the shot peening is softer than the part, if the shot peening hardness value decreases, the shot peening strength also decreases.
③ Shot blasting speed
When the shot blasting speed is increased, the shot blasting strength is also increased, but when the speed is too high, the shot blasting damage is increased.
④ Spray angle
When the shot blast is perpendicular to the surface to be sprayed, the shot blasting intensity is the highest, so generally it should be kept in this state for shot blasting. If it is restricted by the shape of the part, when shot peening at a small angle is necessary, the shot size and speed should be appropriately increased.
⑤Crushing amount of shot blasting
The kinetic energy of shot blasting fragments is low. The more shot blasts that are broken, the lower the shot peening strength, and the irregular shots will scratch the surface of the part. Therefore, the shots should be removed frequently to ensure that the shot blasting integrity is greater than 85%. The shot blasting equipment is basically the same, only some auxiliary devices are needed to control the shot blasting process more strictly.
